Lecturing & Mentoring

I have lectured at many institutions over the years including Glasgow School of Art, Central St.Martins, University of Brighton, Falmouth College of Art, University of Wales Institute Cardiff, Tokyo Zokei University, Japan and Joshibi University, Tokyo, Japan.

It is always fascinating engaging with students at various levels of their learning, whether that be by offering guidance in their work, or by giving them an insight into working as a designer, product developer and curator.

Mentoring is another very fulfilling role; having the opportunity to work with makers in the Crafts field that are looking for a sounding board and some advice on particular aspects of their practice. To date I have worked with the Crafts Council on their Next Move and Hothouse maker development schemes; Cockpit Arts on their New Creative Markets initiative, the Helfa Gelf Mentoring Scheme, Wales and I also mentor on a private basis.
